My new favorite recipe. I know it sounds weird but trust me on this one. Oh my gosh is this stuff awesome! It’s the perfect lunch or dinner dish for a cool fall or cold winter day.
Ingredients:
Preperation:
Sautee onions and garlic in olive oil for a minute or two, then add sweet potatoes, carrots and bell pepper until onions are soft, about 5-6 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium low, and add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine well.
Simmer, partially covered and stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes, until flavors have mingled and vegetables are cooked.
Makes 5 servings of homemade black bean chili.
Nutritional Info:
The wifey is away at a Dog Show and I am gonna make this for myself sometime this week—but I have no idea what 17th Street Magic dust is—is it like a PWO?? Now THERE is some Magic Dust!!
Seriously, I’m guessing it is in the spices section in the grocery store. Being in a small town, I may not be able to find it—does it add that much to the flavor?

17th street magic dust is just a dry BBQ rub that is made by a local restaurant here in Illinois. It’s not necessary for the recipe but I imagine you could add a bit of any dry rub as a substitute.
