People ask us all the time if Shakeology is safe for children. It’s a great question but a question that makes me laugh considering families shove candy, hot dogs, McDonalds and god knows what else down their kids mouths without ever asking the same question. The answer is a big YES. Shakeology is very safe for your children. In fact it’s just whole foods with no preservatives so not only is it safe for them but it’s most likely the best thing they will put in their little body all day. It gives Lance and I such piece of mind knowing that our girls are properly fueled for the day when they leave the house every morning.Lance and I have been drinking Shakeology for over a year now but could never get the girls to even try it. They have seen us make shakes everyday and just recently shocked us when they wanted to try it. Well to our surprise they LOVED it and now ask for it every morning.
Their favorite flavor is Chocolate but we still have to add some things to it to make them love it. We have tried adding a flavored extract to the shakes before but I always thought they were too strong. I have always loved peppermint so my husband picked up a peppermint flavored creamer at the store over the holidays to try instead. Since then the girls and I have added a little of a flavored creamer to the shake’s and the girls love it. The types of creamer are in flavors they have heard of so that tends to make them more interested in the shakes. We have Almond Bark and York Peppermint Patty creamers at home now. They are just the right amount of flavor and are a little more like a milk shake due to the cream. Plus it doesn’t take much at all to really taste the added flavor.
Try new things in the shakes and once your children are involved in the process they will enjoy drinking them. Let them be creative with it. Let them read the recipe calendar that comes with Shakeology and have them make up their own recipes. The chocolate Shakeology is so versatile and your kids will have fun creating new shakes. There is nothing better then teaching our kids that nutrition can be fun!
